cells come direct from the manufacturer Gold Peak Industries and Intellect
Brothers and meet their
exacting quality control standards. These are exactly the same cells as the
major matching houses use to produce their team packs, which they sell for £50
- £60, the cells are first weighed and then We Select by Weighing ... We weigh the cells to 0.1 gram tolerance and select them in sets of the same weight, this is not fool proof but consistently matches the capacity of the cells fairly well. This helps overcome the problem of badly miss-matched cells causing early failure of the pack. It produces sets that are close enough match for today's racing. The few cells which fall outside of the normal range (very light or very heavy cells) are used for testing only and are not sold. When you get the cells they will have a number on the button, i.e. 6.4, the cells are 66.4 grams in weight (i.e. add 60). If you want light or heavy let me know by email, heavier = slightly more capacity.
WE DON'T "cherry pick" and keep the best cells for our "Team". With GP3300 and GP3700's you no longer need to have expensive matched and selected cells to be able to compete, they have more than enough capacity to last on carpet and tarmac, one customer reported 11.5 minutes run-time (3300) at Snetterton tarmac track. WHY pay a premium for cells with a few seconds more duration when the "standard" cells are more than up to it!
There are only a small number of really special cells in every 1000, how come so many racers
believe they get that special deal from their supplier?. Obviously you may get an edge by using matched cells when they are the top selection, but unless you pay top money don't expect to get the top cells (the best ones go to the team/sponsored drivers anyway, so you can't buy them at all). Our cells are
not matched, you could only offer a matching service at this end of the price
range if you are selling the worst cells from the batch, you only have to look at the prices charged by the major brands to realize
that. Beware of suppliers who have "general purpose" matching labels on their cells. all the cells SHOULD have slightly different numbers on, this indicates they actually match them, and are not just sticking "World" class stickers on unmatched cells AND CHARGING YOU A PREMIUM FOR THE LABEL! ************************************************************************************************************ Click here to see what you are paying for when you buy matched cells ************************************************************************************************************ The "special" wrappers (SP and candy stripes of various kinds) used by various suppliers do not indicate any difference in the cells, they are merely a special shrink wrap applied by GP "to order" for some of their larger customers. GP have stated that the cells inside the wrappers are no different to the cells supplied to everyone else, If I could get a copy of the statement I would put on my web site, but I can no longer find it! packs come as loose plain cells, you can connect them together to suit the cell
configuration required in your RC car, boat or plane. We
sell the accessories
you need to connect the cells together into race packs, as
well as some of the tools required to do a professional job. We
offer a service (for a small charge) to construct the race packs to one of our
